SALmon-TROUT (Haida)
Fish, being the most essential element in the diet of all Northwest Coast people, are lavishly depicted in the many art forms seen throughout the coast of British Columbia. The salmon - trout form used here, is adapted from a carving on a Haida chest found in Whale House in the Tlinglet village of Klukwan in southern Alaska.
